Winter School on Complexity Models for Green Energy Transition

ORGANIZATION: The Institute of Economics, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro & The EEIST Project (Economics of Energy Innovation and System Transition)
DATE: August 1, 2, and 4, 2022, from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM
OBJECTIVE: Disseminate recent advances in alternative modeling approaches for the energy transition and the environment
REGISTRATION: until July 27th, no charges (free registration)

AVAILABILITY: 20 in-person, plus 20 remote positions

TARGET AUDIENCE: academics and professionals from the economics, energy, and climate areas willing to learn more about alternative modeling approaches, or academics and professionals already engaged with the agent-based methodology willing to learn more and contribute to the ecological transition aspect. Attendees will have the opportunity to catch up with what is happening on the fringe of agent-based modeling for energy transition research, in addition, to getting hands with the models in the Laboratory sessions, running experiments, and analyzing results in real-time on the computer. No previous programming experience is required but will help attendees understand the experiments.

TEACHERS: international-level renowned researchers in the area to present their own models and their most recent developments, including Professor Andrea Roventini (Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, Italy), Professor Marco Valente (University of L'Aquila, Italy), Professor Marcelo Pereira (State University of Campinas, Brazil), Dr. Roberto Pasqualino (University of Cambridge, UK) and Professor Esther Dweck (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).
